Migration over Florida

Another moderate flight of birds over the Sunshine State as winds were light northerly overnight.
Here’s the radar from sunset last night through sunrise this morning.

Frames are every 1/2 hour for reflectivity and velocity, and every hour for the regional composite. Click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized animation. Click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized animation.

Birds are seen moving over the entire state, but would be highly dispersed across the landscape this morning due to lack of precipitation at any one location. On the Miami radar, moderate densities of birds can be seen moving southward, and on the Key West radar birds can be seen leaving Cape Sable and the coastal areas of the Everglades, as well as Miami and point east, and heading down into the Keys and beyond towards Cuba.

Good Birding! 🙂

ps. for those of you keeping track, I added the radar for 09/13. Scroll down to view.
