No migration over Florida

There was no apparent migration over Florida last night, due to southerly flow associated with the low moving northwest across the state.
Here’s the radar from sunset last night through sunrise this morning.

Frames are every 1/2 hour for reflectivity and velocity, and every hour for the regional composite. Click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized animation.

The Miami radar feed crapped out at about 11:00 PM, so I haven’t included it here. The Key West radar did show a small “puff” of birds leaving the Keys for Cuba- even in the face of southerly winds….shorebirds maybe? It seems unlikely that small passerines would launch into the Florida straits in such adverse conditions…but who knows?!

Good Birding! 🙂
