Last night the radar lit up as birds took to the wing. Birds have been piled up all week and have finally taken flight, with a ESE to SE birds made good time and flew awesome distances. Don’t have time to go into detail but the west coast looks best. Ft. DeSoto should be slamming today as well as any other migrant traps in the area. Further south along the coast seems like it will be great today as well, places like Sanibel Lighthouse, Six Mile Slough, Big Bend etc should look good today. ENP should also be good today as a late group of birds flew in last night, Gumbo Limbo Trail, Mahogany Hammock, Lake Ingraham, Flamingo, and the CP Trail may be loaded as well. Inland and west coast migrant traps are your best bet today. Miami radar picked up lots of pulses last night but given the winds these birds may have overshot us. Some birds should have dropped in the late morning and that would make places like A.D Barnes, Sadowski, Kendall Indian Hammocks, Chekika etc… pretty decent spots to bird today. Given the densities there should be lots of new birds around today. To the north it was amazing with birds heading up through Alabama, Georgia, Tenn. and the Carolinas looking excellent today. Any cool sightings up there Key Bunny?
Go out and bird wherever you are today it seems like it may be the best birding day of the spring so far. Good luck out there and have a blast birding, he have not seen many of these species since last fall so enjoy them to the fullest. Enjoy the spring migration!

All sightings posted to Badbirdz2 are greatly appreciated!
