Migrants were on tap for Miami last night

This is the radar from 5:00pm last night to 11:00am this morning.

A quick look at the radar shows what seems to be a late arrival of migrants from N. Key Largo to the Southern Glades. Birds were definitely entering the Miami radar as of late this morning (10 a.m.). If any of you are in Miami go out and check your local migrant hot spot for new faces. Please let us know if you guys see migrants today, it looks like it could be a good birding day. Don’t forget to count what you see today for the 2010 NAMC, contact your local NAMC coordinator for info on how to submit your sightings.

  1. Pretty quiet at Cape Florida but we closed nets at 1200; it’s still pretty hot out. There may have been a few birds coming in all morning; no big rush. Tomorrow is our final banding day for Spring 2010 so maybe we’ll stay a little longer…

  2. Wow! They did come in later in the afternoon. Huge departure after dark on 5/8 from the eastern half of So Fla, including Key Biscayne.
