Huge Flight Tonight – Preview :)

Here is a preview of what is going on tonight. High pressure is still out over the Mississippi Valley allowing for birds to move on the favorable winds and weather. The cold front is currently over extreme S. FL with lots of moisture building to our south. Birds leaving the Keys can be seen avoiding the rain out over the Straits. The Dry Tortugas seem to be in line with the shift in flight direction, wonder what tomorrow will bring for birders visiting the island. Northerly winds dominate the state once again tonight, great winds for the birds but not the birders. As always birds will trickle out during nights such as tonight. The densities recorded over Alabama and Georgia is impressive and represents values of 602 birds per cubic km! We can only wait and see what happens over the course of the night. Check back for the radar post in the morning before 6am.
