Below is a snapshot of the national map with radar and weather fronts. As the season roars on you will see how much of the map will be covered with radar sites recording more and more birds on the move. Use this map to get an overall feel of migration and how weather fronts can affect nocturnal migration.
Frames are every 1/2 hour. Click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized animation.
No time to post an analysis this morning. We will be on line a bit later and post our full interpretation on last night’s migration. Most birds were leaving the peninsula, but migrants were crossing the FL Straits from Cuba as well as some birds moving east out of the Bahamas. Be on the lookout for new arrivals in your hood, and note if wintering species are absent or thinning out. OK, we will be back!

Wow — Eye candy for the migration watcher. Displays nicely on mobile as well!
